IPL 2023 Final: What happens if Reserve Day too is washed away?

Xtra Time Web Desk: Rain played a spoilsport in the IPL 2023 final at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. The two finalists Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans will be returning tomorrow i.e., on Reserve Day for the final. There has been a hailstorm and torrential rain in Ahmedabad, forcing the final to be shifted to Monday.

Now the question is what happens if it rains in the Reserve Day as well. And there is a prediction of rain too on Monday.

According to the playing conditions of IPL, no overs will be lost if the match starts before 9:40 PM. The deadline to start a five-over-a-side game is 12:06 am IST.

If the match starts on Reserve Day and rain plays spoilsport again then the same procedure will be followed on Monday.

If even a 5 over match is not possible then there will be a Super Over to decide the champions.

Even if a Super Over decider is not possible then Gujarat Titans will be declared as winners as they finished above the Chennai-based franchise in the league stage matches.
