Xtra Time Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni on Monday joined an elite list of cricketers by becoming the seventh player to score 5000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhoni achieved this feat during a game against the Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. It took him 208 innings to reach the landmark.

The other members of the 5000-run club include Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, and AB de Villiers. Dhoni’s milestone was achieved in style as he hit a six and a four in consecutive balls off Mark Wood. However, he was dismissed soon after trying to hit another six.
