IPL 2023: Bishnoi’s smart play and Harshal’s fumble hands LSG a win in final over thriller at Chinnaswamy

Xtra Time Web Desk: The final over of the IPL 2023 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Chinnaswamy stadium was filled with intense drama. Lucknow needed 5 runs off the last over with three wickets in hand, with Jaydev Unadkat and Mark Wood at the crease. Harshal Patel was given the responsibility to bowl the final over for RCB.

Unadkat took a single off the first ball, followed by Wood getting bowled by Harshal on the next ball. The equation came down to 4 runs required off 4 balls. Bishnoi, the LSG leg spinner, showed great presence of mind and took two runs after placing the ball through point. He then took a single off the next ball, bringing the scores level with 1 run required off the last ball.

Unadkat was caught at long on off the next delivery, setting up a nail-biting finish. Harshal, trying to run out Bishnoi at the non-striker’s end, missed the stumps but did hit them later. However, the run-out didn’t count as it’s not allowed to throw after attempting to run out the non-striker. Harshal went back to his run-up, but Avesh managed to get through to the other end despite a fumble by Dinesh Karthik behind the wicket. Avesh threw his helmet in celebration as Lucknow Super Giants won the match by 1 wicket in a thrilling final over drama.
