IPL 2022 : Take a look at the heart touching story of Punjab Kings’ new pace sensation Vaibhav Arora

Xtra Time Web Desk : Punjab Kings’ young pace sensation Vaibhav Arora was brilliant on his Indian Premier League debut against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings, as he picked up two crucial wickets for his side and ended up with figures of 2/21 in his quota of 4 overs.

But Vaibhav’s road to the IPL debut wasn’t an easy one as the youngster had to face a lot of struggles before achieving this feat. The Himachal Pradesh pacer who had suffered leg and elbow injuries back in 2018, at a time thought of quitting cricket in order to pursue a private job to help the cause of his family.

Despite of all the thoughts to quit the game, it was his coach Ravi Verma who kept on insisting him to keep going as he didn’t want one of the brightest prospects of Indian cricket to go in vain.

So, with many a failed attempts, Vaibhav was on the verge of calling time on his cricketing career, before his coach called him a ‘quitter’ which reinstalled the will power within the youngster to come back to cricket and make his mark.

Thus, this incident changed Arora’s life as the speedster fast tracked through the ranks of local cricket and then state cricket to get into the IPL 2020 as a Punjab Kings net bowler.

The 24 year old then impressed the likes of Punjab’s former skipper, KL Rahul, batters in Mayank Agarwal, Glenn Maxwell and head coach Anil Kumble with his bowling skills, which again led Kolkata Knight Riders to pick him up in their squad for the IPL 2021 for a sum of INR 20 lakhs.

And after many ups and downs, Arora finally made a sensational debut against CSK on Sunday after being picked up by his franchise Punjab Kings, in this year’s mega auction, earlier this season for a sum of INR 2 crores.
