Xtra Time Web Desk : Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant on Saturday was fined 100% match fee alongside Pravin Amre fined, who’ve been handed one-match ban. Shardul Thakur too was fined 50% match fee after admitting to their offenses.
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant dragged himself into a controversy during the IPL 2022 match against Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede on Friday. Pant was seen signalling his teammates Rovmen Powell and Kuldeep Yadav to walk off the field after the on-field umpires did not refer a no ball in the final over.
The incident happened during the third ball of the final over bowled by Rajasthan Royals medium pacer Obed McCoy. It looked the ball may have been waist height but it was despatched into the stands by Powell. But soon Pant was spotted signalling both Powell and Kuldeep to walk off, which would have resulted in RR winning the game. Pravin Amre, a member of DC’s coaching staff, entered the playing area to have a chat with the official.
