Xtra Time Web Desk : The Indian Premier League Mega Auction is all set to be held on February 12th and 13th, confirmed the league chairman Brijesh Patel on Tuesday after the IPL Governing Council's meeting.

"Yes, the auction will be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13," said Patel to ANI.

Apart from the above, the current IPL Chairman also opened up about the pre mega auction formal clearance given by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) to the two new franchises namely, Lucknow and Ahemdabad on Tuesday.

In an statement to ANI, Patel said, "Yes, a formal clearance has been given to both Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises. Both of them have been given two weeks' time to finalize their draft picks."

Earlier on Tuesday, Patel also announced that the TATA group will replace VIVO as the official title sponsor for IPL 2022 which would see the tournament's name being reframed as "TATA Indian Premier League.

Thus, after major changes to the league, the 10 franchise tournament is expected to reach new heights in the upcoming season.
