Xtra Time Web Desk : The countdown for Indian Premier League 2022 started on Friday as the two new franchises of the tournament in Lucknow and Ahmedabad announced their draft signings for the new season. Whereas on one hand, Lucknow signed KL Rahul as their skipper, the Ahmedabad franchise announced Hardik Pandya as their captain.
Apart from roping in skipper KL Rahul for INR 17 crores, Sanjiv Goenka’s Lucknow announced the signing of Marcus Stoinis for INR 9.2 crores and the uncapped young leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi for INR 4 crores. Earlier, the franchise announced Gautam Gambhir as their mentor.
On the other hand the Ahmedabad franchise roped in some superstars in captain Hardik Pandya for INR 15 crores, deadly Rashid Khan for INR 15 crores and youngster Shubman Gill for a sum of INR 8 crores. The team will be led by Pandya, who would captain this team as his first assignment as a skipper. Earlier the franchise also announced Ashish Nehra as their head coach, Gary Kirsten as their mentor and Vikram Solanki as their director of cricket.
