IPL 2021: T Natarajan tests positive for COVID-19 ahead of match against Delhi Capitals

Xtra Time Web Desk: Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer T Natarajan on Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19 at a scheduled RT-PCR test ahead of his team’s IPL 2021 encounter against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday. According to sources few players have been in close contacts including all rounder Vijay Shankar.

The match between DC and SRH will go ahead in Dubai as the RT-PCR test report of the remaining squad returned negative.

The 30-year-old, who is currently asymptomatic, has isolated himself from the rest of the squad.

“Sunrisers Hyderabad player T Natarajan tested positive for COVID-19 at a scheduled RT-PCR test. The player has isolated himself from the rest of the squad. He is currently asymptomatic,” a BCCI release stated.

The medical team has identified the below mentioned six close contacts of the player, who have also been placed in isolation. They are Vijay Shankar, SRH Team manager Vijay Kumar, Physio Shyam Sundar, Doctor Anjana Vannan, Logistics manager Tushar Khedkar and net bowler Periyasamy Ganesan.

The rest of the contingent including the close contacts underwent RT-PCR tests at 5AM local time on Wednesday and the test reports came negative.
