IPL 2021: RCB’s Daniel Sams tests positive for COVID-19, days ahead of season opener against Mumbai Indians

Xtra Time Web Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) Daniel Sams is the latest cricketer in IPL 2021 to test positive for COVID-19. The Australian all rounder tested positive in second test, just days ahead of RCB’s opener against Mumbai Indians in Chennai on April 09. The cricketer has been placed under quarantine.

He had tested negative in the first test but has tested positive in the 2nd Test.

According to a statement released by the franchise:

“Daniel Sams checked into the team hotel in Chennai on April 3rd, with a negative COVID report on arrival. His report from the 2nd test on 7th April came positive. Sams is currently asymptomatic and he is currently in isolation at a designated medical facility.”

“Royal Challengers Bangalore medical team is in constant touch with Daniel Sams and continue to monitor his health and abide by the BCCI protocols,” it added.
