XtraTime Web Desk: Reliance Jio, Byjus and Amazon are believed to be the frontrunners to replace VIVO as the title sponsor for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). The situation has so arise after Chinese mobile company VIVO decided to part ways as the title sponsor of IPL 2020 due to the backlash across the country because of the Indo-China tensions in Ladakh.

It is learnt that the three above mentioned companies has emerged as the frontrunner to replace VIVO as the title sponsor for this season. Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio is believed to have a slight edge over the other two companies. First it is the biggest telecommunication player in the country and fits the Prime Minister’s vision of being AtmaNirbhar. Both Reliance Jio and BCCI had initial talks between them but nothing is finalized yet.

Apart from Reliance Jio, Byju’s has also emerged as a prime contender for the title sponsorship of IPL this season. The online education startup company is also the jersey sponsor of the BCCI. It is learnt though that the company is not willing to pay a hefty amount of 440 crore as was paid by VIVO annually. They can only agree to come on board if they are offered some discounts. Byjus is also the main sponsor of Shah Rukh Khan owned Kolkata Knight Riders. The Bollywood actor is also the brand ambassador of Byju’s.

Another company believed to be in the fray is Amazon as they would like to encash the festive season as the IPL 2020 season stretches close to Diwali.
