IPL 2020, Team India’s future FTP main agenda’s for BCCI apex council meeting on July 17

XtraTime Web Desk: The fate of Indian Premier League (IPL) this season is the main agenda for the BCCI Apex Council meeting via teleconferencing on July 17. The meeting will be chaired by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. It will be the third among the apex council members. There has been a lot of speculation about the start of Indian Premier League (IPL), whether it will start in September or October. It was also speculated that the cash rich league might be shifted to Sri Lanka or UAE if the situation of pandemic is not improved in the country. The apex council members will discuss about the way forward as far as staging IPL this year is concerned. Another important agenda to be discussed in the meeting is India’s future tours program (FTP). Virat and his boys are scheduled to travel Down Under to play a four match test series against Australia later this year. Apart from the Australia series, there are no international fixtures lined up this year. Another agenda of the meeting is the domestic cricket schedules.


According to the sources, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has forwarded the 11 point agenda for the meeting to the Apex Council members which are as follows:

1) Indian Premier League 2020 – Way forward
2) Discussion on the domestic cricket schedules
3) Indian Cricket team’s future tour program – Rescheduling of the England home series for Feb
4) Tax exemption certificates from the Indian Government mandatory for hosting the T20 World Cup in India
5) National Cricket Academy facility in Bengaluru
6) Extension of Digital Services contract for BCCI & IPL digital platforms
7) Issue of Bihar Cricket Association
8) Appointment of new staff in the BCCI
9) Procedure to appoint new CEO after Rahul Johri’s resignation
10) Way forward on Payments to the north-eastern states
11) Discussion on Tender for Apparel Partnership.
