XtraTime Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Rider’s promising batsman Shubman Gill is seen supporting You We Can, the foundation set up by former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh for raising awareness amongst cancer patients. The youngster was spotted using the logo of You We Can on his bat during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The stylish KKR batsman scored a brilliant 70* from 62 balls which included 5 fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 112.90. Shubman was duly awarded the Man of the Match award for his performance with the bat against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Before joining Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) camp in the UAE, Shubman did his pre-season training at the Punjab state team nets under Yuvraj Singh’s mentorship. He has always seen the former India cricketer as his mentor.
“Yuvi Paaji told me that I have to trust my own game and I have to go there and have fun and enjoy the game. And that I shouldn’t be too hard on myself,” Gill said during that time.
It was during the practice session in Punjab, young Shubman decided to promote the foundation set up by Yuvraj for a noble cause, throughout the IPL 2020.
