XtraTime Web Desk: The National Anti Doping Agency will be carrying out the dope tests during the upcoming 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) in UAE starting from September 19. The national agency has reached out an understanding with the UAE’s National Anti Doping Agency to carry out the tests jointly. According to the understanding reached between the two agencies, both anti doping watchdogs will jointly carry out the dope sample collection of cricketers during the IPL 2020.

UAE NADO’s ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ will be followed all time by the dope control officers of two nations while collecting the urine samples of participating cricketers. According to a report in Times of India (TOI) NADA has already been in touch with its UAE counterpart and, according to the initial talks, the cricketers will be subjected to ‘no-contact’ testing in accordance with restrictions placed by local health authorities to ensure protection of cricketers and Dope Control Officers. The DCOs will place the urine sample container kit at a designated place – either at the venue, hotel or resort in the presence of the cricketer chosen for testing who in turn will put back the container with the sample of his urine at the same designated spot within a specified period. No one else can be accompanied with the concerned cricketer who is called for dope test.

The IPL 2020 will be staged in UAE from September 19 to November 10 and the matches will be staged across three venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
