XtraTime Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has not lost his six hitting prowess at all despite being away from competitive cricket for over a year. The Jharkhand cricketer has been hitting sixes regularly at CSK nets, much to the joy of his fans. During a practice game among the CSK squad at the ICC academy ground, a slog hit from Dhoni landed outside the ground, much to amazement of his teammate Murali Vijay. Both Vijay and CSK’s media manager Russell was left dumbstruck to see the power and timing of the shot from Dhoni.

In the video posted on the official twitter handle of Chennai Super Kings, Russell was heard saying,“Ball lost?” while recording the video.
In response, Murali Vijay, who was fielding in the long on boundary said:

“Is it power Russ, is it power.”

“I don’t know, you tell me,” responded Russell.

“Beautiful timing, bat speed, swing it’s gifted. Can’t do much better,” said Vijay.

All eyes will be on the talismanic CSK captain as he leads the Super Kings in the 13th edition of the cash rich league. Millions of Dhoni fans will be glued to the TV sets as this will be the first opportunity to see him live in action post that semi final loss against New Zealand in ICC Cricket World Cup at Old Trafford. After staying in a sabbatical for almost a year, the wicket keeper batsman from Jharkhand made a surprise announcement about his retirement from international cricket on August 15. The IPL is the only platform where his fans can watch Dhoni play.

Last year’s runners-up CSK face defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament-opener on September 19.
