IPL 2020: I am ready to go, says Andre Russell on his fitness

XtraTime Web Desk: Andre Russell has become Mr. Dependable for Kolkata Knight Riders in the last few years. He wins game with the bat, he wins game with the bowl, Dre Russ can do everything.

Speaking to one of the anchors, Andre Russell said that because of playing in the CPL, he’ll have match practice and that might help him in IPL. “To be honest, it’s good to have some games under my belt. Before coming to a big tournament like IPL. It was actually good to get some games. Not the performance I would want individually but you know getting some games and match practice is very important. So, hope I go well tonight for my team.”

Kolkata Knight Riders will play 8 of their match at Abu Dhabi. When asked about the difference in the pitch and in Abu Dhabi, Russel said, “Well, we will just have to see the condition and see what’s happening. We can’t say anything as of yet. We didn’t play our game as of yet. Hope we can adjust to the conditions as quick as possible and hope we can start off with a win tonight”.

Andre Russell had some fitness issues and because of that KKR camp was unable to give the bowl to Andre for a lot of times in IPL. This year, things might change. Russel is ready to bowl. “It’s perfect. It’s loose and I am ready to go.”

“We haven’t really get a chance to look in the middle. We are doing net sessions. I’ve seen the first game and the pitch looks decent. As the tournament goes on these wickets will be a bit better. The wickets haven’t been played for a couple of months. So expectations will be slow early up. I guess the more rolls the pitch gets, the pitches will get better. Let’s hope for that and let’s hope it doesn’t get worse.” This is what Russell said before concluding the pre match conference.
