IPL 2020: Ben Stokes compares debutant Kartik Tyagi with these two star pacers

XtraTime Web Desk: After facing two back-to-back defeats in their last couple of matches, Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith decided to make a few changes in the playing XI against a crucial Indian Premier League match against Mumbai Indians at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. India’s U19 World Cup sensation Kartik Tyagi made his debut. The youngster got a chance in the place of Jaydev Unadkat, who wasn’t bowling well so far in the tournament.

While bowling in the penultimate over of the of the powerplay in the third ball he was hit for a six by Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma. Just when everyone thought that Tyagi is in tremendous pressure, he got rid of in-form Quinton de Kock. De Kock was looking dangerous , having scored 23 runs with the help of three fours and a massive six.

Tyagi got in the short delivery and De Kock couldn’t control the pull shot. The southpaw got a top-edge and Jos Buttler took a simple catch. In the meantime, veteran England all-rounder Ben Stokes made an observation about the speedster.

As per him, Tyagi has a run-up similar to Australia’s Brett Lee while he releases the ball like India’s Ishant Sharma. Stokes took to Twitter and wrote, “Tyagi has a run up like Brett Lee and delivers like Ishant Sharma @rajasthanroyals.”
