IPL 2020: BCCI President Sourav Ganguly visits Sharjah Stadium for final round of inspection

XtraTime Web Desk: With just 5 more days to go before the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) gets underway in UAE, preparations are in full swing in UAE. All the 8 teams have been busy training, chalking out strategies and team compositions. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly, who has been quarantining himself at his hotel in Dubai for six days, visited the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday. Ganguly is in UAE to oversee the preparations ahead of the start of the IPL season.

The BCCI President on Monday visited the Sharjah Stadium to look at the arrangements. Sharjah Stadium will host 12 matches in IPL this season. The first IPL 2020 match to be played at the historic venue will be between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. The remaining matches will be played at Zayed Stadium (20 matches) in Abu Dhabi and Dubai International stadium (24 matches) in Dubai.

The cash rich league kick starts on September 23 at Abu Dhabi with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Chennai Super Kings. The final will take place in Dubai on November 10. It is learnt Sourav will stay in UAE till September 23.
