XtraTime Web Desk: The cricket pundits believed that Shikhar Dhawan’s 97 runs knock against Kolkata Knight Riders changed the mindset of Delhi Capitals team and Shikhar himself but Dhawan gave a surprising reply to the presenter on this matter which will shock everyone. As per him his mind set changed when he got out on a duck against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
“Actually I would say I changed my mind set when we played against RCB. Unfortunately I got out on 0 but mind set was different on that game. In the next games I stood on that mind set and just wanted to give quick start to my team in first 6 overs so that later the lower order capitalizes on it,” said Dhawan.
This is the first time that the Delhi based outfit has reached the knockouts in seven years (Earlier it was Delhi Daredevils). Shikhar too is back at his old team and helped them to reach the playoffs. On being asked about his journey so far in this season, Dhawan replied, ”It feels great to be a part of Delhi Capitals team and we got great bunch of guys as well as support staffs. We played great cricket this season and that’s why we are here and we deserve to be here. We are looking forward to play the game here and win the eliminator.“
Dhawan has scored nearly 500 runs in this season’s IPL and the veteran opener looked relieved with his performance so far.”It feels good. I have been quite consistent in IPL from past few seasons. It was a good challenge for me as I came to a new franchise. I am happy that I stood up to that challenge and did well for my team and myself,” concluded Dhawan.
