IPL 2019: What is David Warner’s aim before leaving SRH to prepare for the World Cup?

XtraTime Web Desk: Andre Russell single handedly destroyed SunRisers Hyderabad in the last couple of overs when they visited Eden Gardens last time. Though SRH star opener David Warner doesn’t want to think about just one person as he wants to contain the whole team at Hyderabad.

“Look you don’t need to worry about one person but you have to worry about the whole opposition. He has had a fantastic tournament so far and hitting his peaks in last couple of games but for us it’s about containing the rest of the team and not just one person,” said Warner.

After serving a year ban in international cricket for the sand paper controversy Warner and former Aussie skipper Steve Smith have made a comeback to Australia’s World Cup squad. Warner has gone through a good IPL season so far and wants to put SRH in strong position before leaving to prepare for the World Cup. “Yes it’s been a great couple of months. I have the orange cap and that’s an advantage of being an opening batsman. For us it’s going out there and backing your ability and putting runs on the board and putting our team in a position where we can defend or get going so look it’s not about me it’s about the guys.

“We are trying to get into the finals, there are four important games coming up and I will try to put our team in the best position before I go,” added Warner.

After losing three back to back matches SRH beat Chennai Super Kings in their last game. As per Warner it was a massive win for them but they should move forward and concentrate on the next few matches. “It’s massive for us. Now we always try to make this ground our fortress. We obviously played bad against Delhi but look if we win this game here and then again come back here to play another one on 29th and then we got two away before the end. So it’s very important to us to move forward,” concluded Warner.
