IPL 2019: Russell is putting bowlers under a lot of panic, says Brian Lara

XtraTime Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders star batsman Andre Russell has been in top form in this season’s of IPL as he scored 207 runs so far in four matches at a strike of 268.83 which is huge, beside that he has also taken 5 wickets as well.  In last four matches he has been the savior of KKR with both bat and ball. Except the Delhi Capitals game KKR has won all three thanks to Russell’s destructive knocks. West Indian legend Brian Lara looked very happy with Russell’s performance so far but he is expecting  the bowlers should bowl better to him.

“I actually want to see bowlers bowl better against him. As a West Indian you want to see him handle these situations. And he is doing pretty well so far. I think actually he has put the bowlers under a lot of panic, even the captains are under panic,” said Lara.

Lara has a suggestion for the bowlers as well about how to bowl against Dre Russ. “I want to see the team’s testing him. Get the Yorkers in, get the short ball in and see what he is capable of because if you bowl in his slot he is so strong that he will hit you out of the park,” added Lara.

Lara looked very happy with the resurgence of West Indian cricketers in World cricket. “Talking about Chris Gayle & Andre Russell, they aren’t playing much international cricket for West Indies but they come out on these turfs in India and they are having a grand time here and relishing their talents and shows their personalities. So it’s great to see a lot of West Indian here,” concluded Lara.
