IPL 2019: Jonny Bairstow creates history in his debut IPL season

XtraTime Web Desk: Jonny Bairstow is showing his rich form on his debut in IPL as he played another blistering knock of 80 runs in just 43 deliveries to give SunRisers Hyderabad to an easy win against Kolkata Knight Riders. Now the star English wicket-keeper batsman has the most runs in debut IPL season excluding the inaugural 2008 season.

After the match Bairstow gave a lot of credit to his team mates as he felt at one stage KKR could have reached 200 runs. “The way they got off to that start, the bowlers did well to peg them back. Huge credit to our guys, it could’ve got away from us. Could’ve got to 200,” said Bairstow.

As per Bairstow it’s fun to bat with David Warner in the middle.” It’s good fun. He’s a great bloke to bat with. We run well between the wickets. When he gets off to start like that, it’s just a case of giving him the strike,” added Bairstow.

He will play his last IPL game against CSK on Tuesday. On being asked about the experience of his debut season, Bairstow replied,”My first IPL and I’ve been living every bit of it. Hopefully I’ll be back.”

Most runs in debut IPL season:
