IPL 2019: I want my team’s win ahead of my own performance, says Hardik

XtraTime Web Desk: It was a question of most people that Is Hardik Pandya fully fit ahead of the Indian Premier League as he didn’t play India’s last ODI series against Australia due to a back injury. But proving everyone wrong he scored 121 runs in six matches so far and took 6 crucial wickets as well. Among them two were match winning performance. Though Hardik isn’t thinking about his own performance and wants his team to win.

“To be honest I am not a kind of person who looks after the stats. Eventually I want my team to win. This year is very different for us so far because we won four out of six games. So I am happy with that,” said Hardik.

As per Hardik I was essential for him to perform well after return from the injury.” Personally after coming back I had to perform well in the IPL. In the first game I didn’t play well. I questioned myself but luckily everything turned out to be well,” said Hadik.

On being asked about his goals this season after a successful season last year, Hardik replied,”To be honest I don’t set my goals in every game. I just look how can I contribute for the team. We want to win the IPL and our first goal is to qualify for the play offs. It’s a process when you follow that you will do well. So that’s my goal.”

Hardik revealed that as it is an afternoon game the ball will not come on to the bat fast like the last matches.”Obviously the wicket will be different and the ball will not come as fast as we saw in the games at night,” said Hardik.
