IPL 2019 Final: MI vs CSK | Who is having the edge in the final?

 


XtraTime Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings already created history as they reached in the final of Indian Premier League for the eighth time after beating Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 2 in Vizag. On the other side Mumbai Indians will play their fourth IPL Final this season. Both the teams faced each other in the fourth IPL Final.

The most consistent team in the IPL Chennai Super Kings themselves in a slightly disadvantageous position. In the 7 finals that CSK have played, they have emerged winners thrice (2010, 2011 and 2018) while ending as runners-up on 4 separate occasions.

In 2010 CSK defeated MI to lift their maiden IPL trophy. Suresh Raina’s 57 not out knock helped CSK to get the fighting total of 168. Sachin Tendulkar tried hard as he scored 48 runs but still Mumbai felt short of 22 runs.

In 2013 both the teams met each other in the final MI managed to score just 148 runs as Kieron Pollard made 60. Dwayne Bravo picked four wickets for Mumbai as MS Dhoni’s 63 run innings went in vain as the yellow army felt 23 runs short.

In 2015 Mumbai posted a huge total of 202/5 helped by Man of the match Rohit Sharma’s whirlwind 50 off 26 balls. The target proved too much for Dhoni’s men as they were able to muster only 161/8 with Mitchell McClenaghan (3/25) being the chief destroyer.
