IPL 2019: David Warner, the beast is back in world cricket

XtraTime Web Desk: SunRisers Hyderabad openers David Warner (100*) and Jonny Bairstow (114) shared a partnership of 185 runs together for the first wicket which helped the home side to put up a mammoth of a total of 231 runs in the first innings against Virat Kohli’s RCB.

Post one year ban everyone thought that it will be tough for Warner to return in competitive cricket but the star left hand batsman came back with a bang and hit a century in just three innings. After his century the Australian jumped in the air to celebrate his knock which shows his commitment and love to the game. During the innings break Warner said the last 12 months have improved him a lot and lauded Bairstow for the fantastic partnership.”   I think the 12 months have done me well – I think I am refreshed. A fantastic partnership – a fantastic innings by Jonny (Bairstow),” said Warner. “Half the job is done,” he further added.

On the other hand Jonny Bairstow took second fewest innings to score his maiden IPL century. He lauded the pitch after his knock.” It was great to bat here – between the wickets it’s one of the bigger pitches in India so getting the gaps and constantly rotating the strike is tough – fantastic pitch out there,” said Bairstow.

With this knock Bairstow also has sent warning to other national teams that he is getting ready for the World Cup and these types of knocks are giving him more confidence. The English wicket-keeper batsman lauded Warner for his fantastic knock.” It was fantastic to bat in the middle with Warner – and it’s fantastic he’s got the Orange cap. The crowd is amazing, the fans are fanatical, and we are fortunate to have them,” concluded Bairstow.
