IPL 2019: All you need to know about this season’s best XI


XtraTime Web Desk: Indian Premier League season 12 has ended last night where Mumbai Indians lifted the trophy for a record fourth time by beating MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings by 1 run in a thrilling encounter. Now after the end of a mouthwatering season it’s time to pick up the best XI of IPL 2019. Like others we won’t take a player who won’t be a part of next year’s ICC T20 World Cup. That’s why we aren’t taking this season’s purple cap holder Imran Tahir who will retire after this year’s ICC Cricket World Cup. Despite of his age MS Dhoni is there in the best XI as there is still no replacement of MSD in this Indian team and there is a high chance that he will be there in India squad during T20 World Cup as well. Openers

David Warner: David Warner is the top scorer in the 2019 IPL season and awarded the Orange Cap.He scored 692 runs in 12 games with the Strike Rate of 143.86 for the SunRisers Hyderabad.

Shubman Gill: KKR team management didn’t use this talented batsman properly but this young lad shown his class whenever he got the chance to express. The emerging player scored 296 runs in 14 games and hit three fifties as well.

Middle Order

Rishabh Pant: Delhi Capitals relied on this young talent and he delivered it in this season of IPL. Pant scored 488 runs in 16 matches with the strike rate of 162.66. He also got three half centuries as well.

Virat Kohli (C): The RCB skipper was not at his best in this season and his team remained last in this edition of IPL. Virat scored 464 runs in 14 matches. He also scored a century and his strike rate was 141.46.

All-rounder

Hardik Pandya: The Mumbai Indians all rounder was very effective as he scored 402 runs in 16 games. Beside that Hardik picked 14 wickets with the ball in 16 matches.

Andre Russell: The West Indies star was phenomenal for KKR as he scored most runs for Kolkata. He got four fifties in this season. Russell scored 510 runs in 14 matches. He was also the leading wicket tacker for KKR. He picked 11 wickets in 14 matches.

Krunal Pandya: The Mumbai Indians all rounder played very well in the 2019 IPL. He was a star performer for the champions. He scored 183 runs in 16 games with the strike rate of 122. He was very successful with the ball too. He picked 16 wickets in 16 matches.

Wicket-keeper

MS Dhoni: Chennai super Kings skipper MS Dhoni was very good in this season too. Thala scored 416 runs in 15 mathes. He got three half centuries with the strike rate of 134.62.

Spinner

Rashid Khan: The Afgan spinner was very good with the ball as he picked 17 wickets in 15 games.

Medium Pacers

Kagiso Rabada: Delhi Capitals pacer was very good in this season of IPL specially in the death overs. He picked 25 wickets in 12 games and was second in most wicket takers list.

Jasprit Bumrah: Mumbai Indians medium pacer picked 19 wickets in 16 matches. He played a very important role to make Mumbai the Champions of IPL 2019.
