XtraTime Web Desk: Defending champions Mumbai Indians wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan faced a sudden injury on his face and after that the doctors immediately took him off the field during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday. The shocking incident took place in the 13th over of the second innings when a wild throw of Hardik Pandya awkwardly on the practice pitch and hit Kishan’s right eye. Kishan was in severe pain and after seeing this Mumbai Indians medical staffs rushed into the ground. After he was replaced by Aditya Tare.

The Mumbai based franchise bought Ishan for a massive amount of rupees 6.2 crore in the IPL Players auction earlier this year. He has played in 20 matches so far in the cash rich league and scored 412 runs at an average of 21.68.

Last night MI skipper Rohit Sharma played a top knock of 94 runs, later his bowlers backed the team as well and the home side beat RCB by 46 runs.

Put into bat, Mumbai recovered from a shock start of 0 for 2 to post 213 for 6, their highest score of the season, mainly through the splendid batting of Rohit (94 in 52 balls) and opener Evin Lewis (65 in 42 balls).

Then, the Mumbai bowlers led by left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya (3 for 28) stopped RCB at 167 for 8 in 20 overs to notch up their first win in their fourth match of the season.
