IPL 2018: 5 young cricketers to watch out for in this season

Internet Desk: This year IPL will be very exciting as some young talents will get their chances to perform in this edition and they can also make the difference for their side. Some of them already performed well for their teams. Here are those five cricketers who can be the Hero in this edition of Indian Premier League.

1) Lungi Ngidi: This South African fast bowler had a great debut against India in the recently concluded test series as the hosts won the series 2-1. Chennai Super Kings singed this pacer for 50 lakh in this Edition. The Proteas probably got their best replacement for Dale Steyn as the legendary speed star ruled out for his injury after the first match. Ngidi picked 7 wickets in his debut test and claimed the ‘Man of the Match’ award. This young fast bowler made his T20 debut against Sri Lanka and picked two wickets in his two overs by giving just 10 runs.

2) Sandeep Lamichhane: This Nepalese leg break bowler will be the first ever Nepalese cricketer to play in IPL. Earlier he played in Hong Kong T20 Blitz for Kowloon Cantons and also played for Nepal National cricket team. Delhi Daredevils got this young talent in IPL auction for rupees 20 lakh. Lamichhane took 12 wickets in nine matches for Nepal during the WCL Championship. He also took nine wickets in seven matches last month in Nepal’s franchise T20 competition, the Everest Premier League. He first gained attention at the 2016 Under-19 World Cup by taking a hat-trick during his 5 for 27 to set up an eight-wicket thumping of Ireland.

3) Kamlesh Nagarkoti: Indian U19 team recently won the World Cup and this young bowler made his impact by clocking regularly in excess of 140kph. His athleticism and ability to bowl long and his lightning sharp reflexes at backward point, coupled with his hitting ability lower down the batting order, makes him an all-round asset.

Nagarkoti made his first class debut for Rajasthan in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy and impressed in his second game, rescuing his team from 54 for 6 with an unbeaten half-century. He followed that by claiming the first hat-trick by a Rajasthan bowler in first class cricket to bowl his side to victory. In his first trip outside the subcontinent, Nagarkoti took 14 wickets in two youth Tests against England Under-19 at 15.14, including a match haul of 10 for 112 in the first Test in Chesterfield. More impressive performances earned him a spot in India’s Under-19 squad for the 2018 World Cup as he took 11 wickets. He was bought for INR 3 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders for this edition of IPL.

4) Navdeep Saini:  This young Indian fast bowler is one of the brightest fast bowling prospects India at the moment.He was the star of Delhi’s campaign as they reached the Ranji Trophy final in 2017-18. He took 34 wickets in 8 games to make the grade at International level. Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for 3 crores in this year IPL auction.

5) Shubman Gill: He is another star in U19 squad of India as he got Man of the tournament award by scoring 341 runs in five matches with an average of 170.50 and got reward for his performance by getting chance to play for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for this season of IPL.
