Xtra Time Web Desk: Pat Cummins etched his name in cricket history by becoming the first player to achieve two hat-tricks in T20 World Cups. This remarkable feat unfolded during the Super 8 clash between Australia and Afghanistan in St. Vincent.

Cummins' historic moment came as he dismissed Rashid Khan, Karim Janat, and Gulbadin Naib, clinching his second hat-trick of the tournament. His first hat-trick had been secured in Australia's opening Super 8 match against Bangladesh. Against Afghanistan, Cummins took Rashid Khan's wicket with the final ball of the 18th over and then proceeded to dismiss Janat and Naib with the first two deliveries of the 20th over.

This achievement marks the fifth hat-trick by an Australian in T20 Internationals and the third in T20 World Cup history. Cummins humorously remarked on his unprecedented success, saying, "Yeah, I remembered that one (hat-trick). Crazy. Played 100-odd games for Australia, (now) got two in a row."

Afghanistan managed to post a total of 148 for 6 on a challenging pitch, and they seemed poised for a higher score until Cummins and his teammates intervened. Reflecting on the game, Cummins praised the opposition while also acknowledging his team's efforts: "I thought they batted well. But I also thought we restricted the boundaries. They obviously ran well. Overall, decent bowling effort. Not our tidiest day in the field. Happy with the total."
