XtraTime Web Desk: Indian football skipper Sunil Chhetri made his 100 th appearance and scored twice against Kenya in the Intercontinental Cup. India won 3-0 in their second match as Jeje scored another.
This victory was memorable for more than one reason as this match was played in the unlikeliest of circumstances.
It was a great win by our Men in Blue, superbly braced by our Indian football captain Sunil Chettri. The stadium was jam packed to cheer and to back our men in blue.
Sunil plead sent social media into a tizzy and the power of this particular medium was seen in its full glory as not just India but the world football community endorsed the views of the Indian skipper.
Chhetri’s clarion call was heard loud enough as the Mumbai Football Arena, the venue of the Intercontinental Cup, was filled with fans.
Cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag praised team India and Sunil Chhetri for the performance.
