India will lock horns with Chinese Taipei in the first match of the intercontinental cup

XtraTime Web Desk: India will take on Chinese Taipei in the opening match of Hero Continental Cup at Mumbai Football Arena tomorrow.

Chinese Taipei failed to qualify in the AFC Asian Cup but won the last match against Singapore 1-0 on 27th March. While India though lost their last match 2-1 against Kyrgyzstan in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. India qualified for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup.

Chinese Taipei, very reluctant to play the International friendlies as they ranked 121 with 263 points.  While, India climbed up to 97 spot with 354 points.



Key Battles: There will be some big names playing in this match

Chen Hao-wei vs Sunil Chettri:  

Chen Hao-wei is a star Taipei forward who scored six goals in thirty matches while India’s new poster boy of football Sunil Chettri scored 56 goals in his 97 appearances.

Will Donkin vs Eugeneson Lyngdoh:  Will Donkin, Crystal Palace midfielder has a huge experience but played just five International matches. Eugeneson Lyngdoh the Bengaluru FC midfielder played 17 matches for the national side.  Both the players yet to get a goal for their respective national teams.



Chiu Yu hung vs Gurpreet Singh Sandhu: Both the goalkeepers have some experiences as Chiu Yu hung already made 22 appearances while Sandhu played 22 games so far.

Xavier Chen vs Sandesh Jhingan: Both the defenders can score goals but, Jhingan is more experienced in the International circuit as the Indian defender scored 4 goals in 23 games while Chen scored 3 in the 9 matches he played.
