Indian women’s cricket team meets their dream cricketer

Internet Desk: Former Indian cricket team opener Virender Sehwag on Friday shared an image on social media with Indian eves who made the country proud as they reached the final of ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 in England last month. Mithali Raj led Indian cricket team played brilliantly in the tournament where they knocked out the defending champions Australia in the semi-finals but faced a narrow defeat by 9 runs against the hosts England.  Sehwag, who has his own way of celebrating landmarks and significant days, took to twitter and shared an image of his meeting with Jhulan Goswami, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy, Ekta Bisht, Poonam Raut and Rajeshwari Gayakwad. Viru captioned it: “What a joy and pleasure to meet these wonderful girls who make us so proud.”

India’s star batswoman Harmanpreet, who played a blistering knock of 171 runs from just 115 deliveries in the big semi-finals against Australia, thanked her idol cricketer for hosting them. She wrote,” Thank You @virendersehwag Paaji for hosting us, It was our pleasure to Entertain the Entertainer.”

The Indian cricket board (BCCI) has already announced cash prize of Rs 50 lakh to each woman cricketer and Rs 25 lakh for every support staff who was the part of the Mithali Raj led Indian cricket team.
