Indian team receives big boost as Rahul Dravid joins squad ahead of Pakistan game on Sunday | Asia Cup 2022

Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a great news for the Indian team, Head Coach Rahul Dravid has joined the squad ahead of Sunday’s marquee clash against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai. Dravid has fully recovered from Covid-19 and has joined the team. He will be in the Indian dug-out during Sunday night’s game against arch rivals Pakistan.

Former India cricketer and National Cricket Academy Head VVS Laxman was the stand by coach of the Indian team during Dravid’s absence. Laxman was overseeing the training sessions for the last three days. He joined the squad straight from Zimbabwe after the white ball series got over. Even if Dravid reaches Dubai and joins the team, Laxman is expected to stay back for a few more days before flying back to Bengaluru.

This will be Dravid ‘s first major big-ticket tournament since being appointed the Head coach of Indian team.

Meanwhile, top BCCI officials including President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah is expected to be present for Sunday’s match at Dubai International Stadium.
