Internet Desk: Virat Kohli led World No.1 Indian Test team’s 9 consecutive series winning streak comes to an end after South Africa took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three match Test series as they beat the visitors by 135 runs at the Super Sport Park in Centurion on Wednesday. The Men in Blue was in a sublime form during last two and half years but except India skipper Virat Kohli and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya no other batsmen could manage to score big runs against the power packed Proteas bowling line-up and the World No.1 Test side faced series defeat. Though this is not the first time that India has performed poorly in the in their overseas tours. Here we will talk about the nation’s five worst away performances on abroad.

#India’s Tour England 2011

Despite of a brillaint knock by legendary Sachin Tendulkar (91) and Amit Mishra (84) in the second innings India lost the fourth and final Test by an innings and eight runs the Oval as England completed a thumping 4-0 series whitewash back in 2011. This has been always India’s one of the biggest defeat in England.

#India’s Tour of Australia 2011-12

Later in December on the same year the Men in Blue toured Australia to play a four match Test series, where a A resurgent Australia wrapped up an emphatic 4-0 series humiliation of India on Saturday after sealing a 298-run win in the fourth and final Test at the Adelaide Oval.

#India’s Tour of New Zealand 2014

Here India played only 2 Test matches after the ODI series under MS Dhoni’s captaincy and as usual they lost the series by 1-0. The Kiwis won the first Test at Eden Park, Auckland by 40 runs and the Indian managed to drew the second Test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.

The Men in Blue again toured in England back in 2014, where they started well as they won the second Test at the Lord’s but their poor show on the foreign soil returned again and they lost next three Test mathes on the trot and Englnad completed a 3-1 series win at the Oval.

#India’s Tour of South Africa 2018

A brilliant six-for from debutante South African pacer Lungi Ngidi helped South Africa to thump World No.1 Test side India by 135 runs at the Super Sports Park in Centurion in the ongoing tour on Wednesday. With this win the hosts have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match Test series.

Ngidi’s return of 6/39 was the seventh best by a South African on debut and the 27th best on the all-time list. In all he only bowled 26.2 overs in the match for his 7 wickets which gave him an incredible strike rate of a wicket every 22.5 balls.
