The Men in Blue scored 199/3 in 39.2 overs before rain stopped play. At one stage of play, the revised target of 194 runs in 26 overs was given to West Indies through Duckworth-Lewis method but due to heavy rain, the umpires called-off the match as it was raining continuously and the outfield was wet. Earlier, both the openers Shikhar Dhawan (87) and Ajinkya Rahane (62) gave India a solid start as they shared a 132-run partnership. Rahane was dismissed by pacer Alzarri Joseph in the 25th over of the game. Rahane hit eight boundaries in his 78-ball innings. After Rahane’s dismissal, Dhawan kept India’s scoreboard moving by playing all the shots through all parts of the ground on the other hand skipper Virat Kohli (32*) was helping his partner with rotating the strike. Later Dhawan was given lbw in the 32nd over of the game when Bishoo trapped him plum in front of the wicket. Veteran left hand batsman Yuvraj Singh (4) and skipper Kohli then tried to hold the Indian innings together but Yuvraj was dismissed by West Indies captain Jason Holder in the 37th over of the game after they added 17 runs together. After Yuvraj's dismissal former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (9 *) came to bat and tried to continue the flow of runs with Kohli before the rain stopped play. Brief Scores: India 199/3 (Shikhar Dhawan 87, Ajinkya Rahane 62; Devendra Bishoo 1/39) against West Indies.
