Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian cricket team received a traditional welcome as they reached Durban for their upcoming multi-format tour, commencing with the first T20 International scheduled at Kingsmead in Durban on Sunday, December 10. Suryakumar Yadav and his boys were greeted with a desi-style reception. The Men in Blue were cheered by fans at the airport, engaging in selfies and creating an atmosphere of excitement.

This tour holds significant importance as it kicks off with a three-match T20I series, considered crucial for India's preparation for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Following the T20I series in South Africa, the Indian team will be involved in a three match ODI series with Proteas. The much anticipated two match test series will begin on Boxing Day at Centurion.

Despite previous successes in T20Is and ODIs against South Africa, India has been yearning for a Test series victory in the African nation. The last Test series between the two teams in 2021-22 resulted in a 2-1 triumph for the hosts. The upcoming tour presents another opportunity for India to break the jinx and secure a Test series win in South Africa, adding a compelling narrative to their cricketing journey.
