Xtra Time Web Desk: The last batch of Indian cricketers flew out to Johannesburg for the upcoming test series against South Africa. The likes of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah were spotted at the Mumbai airport ahead of their departure to Johannesburg. Also, part of the last batch were captain Rohit Sharma, Harshit Rana and Ravichandran Ashwin.

The upcoming test series against the Proteas is being dubbed the "Final Frontier," as no Indian team has yet clinched a test series victory on South African soil. In their previous tour to South Africa, Virat Kohli and his team faced a setback, losing the three-test series despite initially securing a lead in the first test.

Team India speedster Mohammed Shami was not part of the last batch. It is still uncertain if Shami will travel o the rainbow nation or not. He is still recovering from an ankle injury.

Shami’s new ball partner Bumrah, had been fine-tuning his skills alongside teammate KL Rahul in preparation for the India tour of South Africa 2023-24. In a strategic move to manage his workload and maintain peak physical condition, Bumrah had opted to skip the white-ball segment of the tour, including ODIs and T20Is.

Bumrah boasts an impressive track record in South Africa, having claimed 26 wickets in six Tests. His prowess extends across different continents, with notable performances in Australia, England, and the West Indies. Remarkably, he stands as the sole Indian pacer to secure a five-wicket haul on his maiden tours to South Africa, Australia, England, and the West Indies.

With his ability to consistently deliver breakthroughs, Bumrah remains a crucial asset for India as they strive for success in the upcoming Test series against South Africa.
