Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India middle order batsman KL Rahul has fully recovered from the appendicitis operation. The Karnataka cricketer will travel to Mumbai on Wednesday to assemble with other teammates ahead of England tour. Rahul will be travelling to Chennai along with state teammate Mayank Agarwal. The duo will join Washington Sundar and Ravichandran Ashwin as all four will travel from Chennai to Mumbai by chartered flight. With wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha also returning negative, all the 20 members of the test squad for the tour to England is now fit.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has arranged for chartered flights to pick the players from their cities. A charter flight will pick only Mohammed Siraj from Hyderabad as Hanuma Vihari is already in the UK playing county cricket. Another chartered flight will carry Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Umesh Yadav, Avesh Khan and Abhimanyu Easwaran, who is currently in Dehradun, besides Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami, both will have to take a drive to Delhi from Lucknow.

The rest — especially from Gujarat — that includes Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Arzan Nagraswala will have to travel to Mumbai directly by road. Wriddhiman Saha will have to take commercial flights to reach Mumbai. He has been granted permission to reach on May 24 after recovering from COVID-19.

Players who are based out of Mumbai will be able to spend an extra five days at home before joining the bio-bubble. India captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Jasprit Bumrah, and Shardul Thakur will join the bubble on May 24.

The squad will depart for London on June 02. Virat Kohli and his boys will play ICC WTC Final against New Zealand at Southampton starting June 18 followed by a five test series against England which begins from August 04.
