India tour to Australia: Indian cricketers have their first training session in Sydney

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian cricketers had their first training session in Australia on the auspicious day of Diwali. The cricketers trained at the Blacktown International Sports Park in Sydney Olympic Park. It was the first training session for the Indian team since reaching Sydney on Thursday. The players were only allowed rto train outdoor after testing COVID-19 negative as part of the health protocols laid down by Cricket Australia. The team has to be under 14-day quarantine, but they have been allowed to train.

The BCCI in their official twitter handle shared the pictures of the cricketers – Cheteshwar Pujara, Hanuma Vihari, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav – having some light training and gym sessions. The players were in a strict bubble and no outsiders were allowed inside the stadium.

The Indians will only be allowed to train at the Sydney Cricket Ground- the venue of the first ODI on November 26, a day before the match. While the limited overs series will get underway on November 27, the first tour game for the Test team will be held at the Drummoyne Oval in Sydney from December 6-8, followed by a day-night fixture from December 11-13.
