Xtra Time Web Desk: Virat Kohli-led Indian team on Friday started training ahead of their three-day warm-up match against County Select XI to prepare for the upcoming Test series against England starting next month.  The practice match against the county side will be held from July 20-22 at the Riverside Ground in Durham. The warm up game which will have the status of a first class match will be played behind closed doors.

The Indian team reached Durham on Thursday afternoon after a three day break after the ICC World Test Championship Final against New Zealand that concluded on 23 June.

Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant and training assistant/net bowler Dayanand Garani tested positive for Covid-19 and haven’t travelled with the team to Durham.

Bowling coach Bharat Arun, wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha and reserve player Abhimanyu Easwaran were identified as close contacts of Garani and are undergoing 10-day isolation in London.

Pant is expected to join the squad in Durham ahead of the second practice match (intra squad game) from July 28.
