Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian cricketers recently received their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the United Kingdom. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in discussion with England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had arranged for the second dose of vaccine for the players in the UK. The members of the touring party received their vaccines at a health centre in London.

Team India pacer Mohammed Shami shared a picture on his social media receiving his second dose of COVID-19 vaccine recently in London. Shami had received his first dose of the vaccine in India, prior to leaving for England in May. Head coach Ravi Shastri was the first from the Indian cricket team to receive the vaccine. He got his first jab in the first week of March, when vaccination was made open for 45 plus individuals.

The entire Indian Test squad had taken the first dose of the vaccine before leaving for England in June. The players had taken Covishield as their first dose, which is available in England as it has been developed by the Oxford University in collaboration with AstraZeneca.

The Indian players will be assembling in London on July 14 after their break from cricket after the WTC Final

The entire squad will travel to Durham for a camp ahead of the test series against England. The first test will begin from August 4 at Nottingham
