Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian captain Rohit Sharma on Friday joined teammates in London. He could not travel with the first batch as he had some personal commitments. Rohit was accompanied by wife Ritika and daughter Samaira as they were spotted at the Heathrow airport on Friday morning. The Indian captain has checked in at the team hotel in London.
Virat Kohli, Jasprit Burmah and other members of the Indian team already had reached London on Thursday. The test players had their first training session at Lord’s. It was being speculated by a section of media that Rohit did not fly due to an injury. But that has been put to rest.
Team India head coach Rahul Dravid along with other support staffs will join the Indian team in England after the conclusion of the T20I series against South Africa on Sunday. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer will also be on the same flight to London.
India will play England in one Test from July 1-5 at Edgbaston, and then three ODIs and as many T20Is.
The Indian team will travel to Leicester where they will have a short camp ahead of the warm-up match against Select County XI starting from June 24.
