India skipper Virat Kohli has a request for BCCI

XtraTime Web Desk: India skipper Virat Kohli has requested the BCCI to change its policy regarding the stay of wives of the cricketers. BCCI’s old rule is they allow the wives of players to stay for two weeks during the overseas tours. As per sources he has requested the board to extend the stay of the wives in full overseas tours.

Kohli conveyed the message to a top BCCI official first and the official said it to the Committee of Administrators (CoA) which has been appointed by the Supreme Court. After knowing this the CoA has asked a formal request from Indian cricket team’s manager  Sunil Subramaniam.

“The request was made a few weeks back but as it is a BCCI policy decision, the manager will have to submit a formal request first. Anushka (Sharma) has been travelling with Kohli overseas, however, Kohli now wants the old rule to be abolished and a new policy should come up where wives should be allowed to travel with the Indian team,” The Indian Express quoted a source as saying on Sunday.

The report added that since it’s a policy decision, the CoA is in no rush to make the changes. The decision is not expected until the formation of a new BCCI body.

Earlier in 2018, the parent body of Indian cricket made it official that the wives and the girlfriends of the players will be allowed to stay with their loved once for two weeks during the overseas tours.
