Xtra Time Web Desk: Australia’s Head Coach Justin Langer on Wednesday said that there will be no abuse from his players hurled at the Indians during the upcoming series which starts on Friday with the first ODI at Sydney Cricket Ground.

“In terms of the current side anyone who has watched the last couple of years we talk about our behaviours on and off the field and we talked about there’s no room for abuse, there’s plenty of room for banter and having that competitive instinct. There’s no room for abuse. I’ve always thought that as a player and coach,” said Langer during his virtual press conference.

The last series involving the two countries Down Under saw some chit chats among the players of both teams. Langer reminded that Australia’s test captain had a great sense of humour.

“The captain Tim Paine has a great sense of humour, we love what VK [Virat Kohli] was doing, there’s a great sense of theatre to it. At the end of the day, I can promise you the pressure on the cricket field has nothing to do with the words spoken it’s the person you’re up against. We’re lucky in this series there’ll be a lot of great cricketers and that’s enough intensity let alone any words spoken,” said Langer

The Australian coach heaped huge praises on the Indian fast bowling spearheads Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.

According to Langer, “We know Jasprit Bumrah is a world-class bowler. Bumrah and Shami are a really good opening combination and we have great respect for that and guys have seen a fair bit of them. Through the IPL, the last couple of summers, I think we’ve played 14 ODIs in the last few years against India and it’s 7-all. Our guys have seen a lot of each other and that’s what I love about the contest.”
