Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India cricketer and Chennai Super Kings’ star batsman Suresh Raina has made a big statement that will bring smiles to MS Dhoni fans. Raina, who is also considered to be the best friend of the CSK captain has vowed to convince Dhoni, to continue cricket for 1 more year if CSK goes on to win the IPL 2021 title for the third time. The remaining IPL 2021 Phase 2 will take place in UAE from September-October.
“If Dhoni bhai doesn’t play next season, I too won’t play. We’ve been playing since 2008 (for CSK) if we win this year then I’ll convince him to play next year too,” Raina told News 24 Sports.
Raina also announced his retirement from international cricket the same day with Dhoni on August 15, 2020.
“I have four-five years left in me. We have the IPL this year and then two more teams next year. But I think I’ll play only for CSK till I play. I hope we do well this year,” he added.
Raina will be back in action for the Yellow Army when the remaining matches of IPL 2021 are staged in UAE from September 17.
