Xtra Time Web Desk: SC East Bengal Head Coach Robbie Fowler on Friday expressed his frustration towards East Bengal officials for not signing the final agreement between the club and investor Shree Cement Limited. The  club officials has been at loggerheads with their investor Shree Cement Limited for the past few months over the signing of the final agreement of the joint venture which was to be formed between the two parties.

The reason floated by the East Bengal club officials are certain terms in the final agreement are different from those mentioned in the term sheet. The investors, on the other hand, have maintained throughout that there are no such discrepancies.

The former Liverpool footballer is not amazed to see the lackadaisical attitude of the club officials. In reply to a tweet from a fan forum of the club who announced, “The final agreement will be signed by the club officials. Legal preparations are on in full swing, the SC East Bengal coach tweeted, “I’d be amazed in all honesty, they’ve had over 8 months to sign… and wouldn’t be surprised if somethings up their sleeves… he knows by waiting it makes next year tougher than the last”

Shree Cement came on board as the club’s new investor after Quess Corp ended their association with the Red and Golds in July 2020. A term sheet was signed between the two parties back in September 2020 after which Shree Cement was announced as the club’s investor in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
