ICC WTC Final: Pujara issues warning to New Zealand

Xtra Time Web Desk: With India having notched up sensational victories over Australia and England over the course of this year, Indian test batting line-up main-stay Cheteshwar Pujara has issued a warning of sorts for New Zealand, led by Kane Williamson. India is scheduled to play the Black Caps in Southampton this June, where they will be contesting the World Test Championship final.

Speaking to Times of India, Pujara said, “We have our bases covered and if we play to our potential- then we have the ability to beat any side in the world.” Commenting on India’s preparation for the WTC final, Pujara felt that the Indian team had enough experience to deliver a strong performance.

“Even if we are short preparation-wise, I feel the team has enough experience to deliver a strong performance. This Indian team, in recent times, has shown the wherewithal to win on all surfaces and we will carry that confidence into the match against New Zealand and the subsequent Test series against England,” he added on the matter. Pujara feels that the two teams are evenly matched, and that the final clash between the two sides will provide for a good game.
