Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian squad for the ICC World Test Championship Final will be picked in next 48 hours. The selection committee led by Chetan Sharma will also pick the squad for the test series against England. It will be a 22 member squad comprising of four openers, five middle order batsmen, eight pacers, three spinners and two wicketkeepers. Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishna is in reckoning for a test call up. The 25 year old pacer will have a stiff competition from Navdeep Saini. The KKR bowler made his white ball debut for the country in the ODI series against England at home. All rounder Hardik Pandya looks to be in doubts as the cricketer from Baroda does not bowl regularly in T20 format as well.

The pacers who guarantee a place in the squad are Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Shami. The likely four openers will be Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. Middle order will comprise of the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja. Left arm spinners Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav will fight for the third spinners slot with Ravichandran Ashwin and Washington Sundar looks a certainty. For the two wicket-keeper’s slot the fight will be among Wridddhiman Saha and KS Bharat with Rishabh Pant guaranteed of a place.
