BCCI is trying to send Kohli and his boys earlier to UK for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship Final.

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to send the Indian team earlier to UK for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand at Southampton starting next month from June 18. The Indian team was supposed to travel to England in the first week of June, after the completion of IPL 2021. But with the cash rich league getting suspended due to the multiple COVID-19 cases; BCCI is mulling the idea of preponing the journey of the Indian team to UK.

Under the current circumstance, the Indian cricketers might travel to England in the last week of May amid travel restrictions in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The BCCI will be sending the team in a charter flight to London.

The Indian cricket board is in talks with the UK government and the England and Wales Cricket Board to make sure India cricketers travel to the UK well ahead for the mega final. The Indian team will have to undergo strict 10 day quarantine on reaching UK. The British government put India on a travel ‘red list’ banning the entry of Indian nationals from April 23.

The Indian team will stay back in UK for the four match test series against England starting from August 04.
