Mahmudullah Riyad will lead the Bangladesh squad in ICC T20 World Cup in UAE.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday named the 15 member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in UAE. Mahmudullah Riyad has been named captain of the Bangladesh side. The senior cricketer is the most successful in T20 format, having registered 13 wins from 26 T20Is as captain for the country.

The selectors have left out experienced opener Tamim Iqbal from the side as he opted out from the marquee event citing personal reasons. Mohammad Naim Shaikh, Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar are the options for the opening positions.

The middle order will be led by experienced Mushfiqur Rahim along with U19 World Cup winner Shamim Hossain Patwary, Afif Hossain Dhrubo and Mahedi Hasan. All rounder Shakib Al Hasan will also bolster the batting department.
