Kolkata: Eden Gardens prestigious ‘Eden Time’ is all set to be closed down due to ICC’s Rules and Regulations. CAB boarded the Eden Time few years ago but in modern cricketing fraternity to keep along with Ambush marketing you need to put the tradition behind. So, till the final of the World T20 Eden Time will remain closed.
CAB treasurer Biswarup De quoted as saying,” We have to follow the ICC Code of Conduct and obey the guidelines. Sometimes to gain something, we have to sacrifice our tradition.”
The question arises, when Eden is being re-innovated and branding is done in all aspects then why CAB did not repair the Eden time which was off since the last 4 days.
CAB Joint Secretary, Subir Ganguly quoted as saying, “ We want to concentrate towards the matches. Eden Time is not a big issue. We want the players and audience to concentrate on the game.”
Meanwhile, the electronic scoreboard of Eden has been put on today at the Eden Gardens.
